Celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride Month in Construction

Celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride Month in Construction

June 2022 represents an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and inclusiveness as a cornerstone for the construction industry breaking down barriers by including people no matter what your background or preferences.

Why is this month important?

  1. Because everyone deserves to be PROUD of who they are and to live without fear of being profiled or ostracized in any way.

  2. For most, this journey has been a hard fought battle.  Standing up for who you are and what you believe in is something you should feel PROUD of.

  3. Gaining equality within our society and within an industry has been a struggle and that struggle is not over by any means.  Not everybody supports PRIDE month, but that is continuing to evolve as people see that discrimination and exclusion has no place in 2022 and beyond.  We are all equal - we are all in fact human!

  4. LGBTQ+ youth are 4-5x more likely to attempt suicide than their peers.  Acceptance relieves the anxiety and the risk that someone feels when they are hiding and afraid of what others might think.

  5. Because discrimination of any kind must stop - it's gone on far too long.
Let the rainbox flags fly with pride as we all celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
